max tire tred on 03 civic
You mean tire width.
First of all, is your car lowered? If not then you could go as wide as you want.
If it is lowered around 2 inches or more, it depends on your camber angle. 215 will rub the rear fender lip without a doubt if the camber angle is more than 2 degrees. 205 is fine but if you're looking for a wide tire on a tall wheel such as a 16 or 17, this option is open but I strongly feel a wider tire should take advantage of the additional width of a bigger wheel especially if this is to improve handling, but if it's just for show then I understand.
You can get a body shop to shave that lip for you to accomidate a wider tire and have a camber angle closer to 0.

Dont listen to SlammedBlueEM2 --- I do not believe is has an EP3 .... you can use much wider tires than he mentions on the new Si's... I am running 225/50/16's on an eibach sportline drop of about 1.5" ... no problems.
...and this is without a camber kit ... my rears are at about 1 degree of camber. (not 2 like he insists...)

225 is about the limit that you can go.
but even then, the offset of your wheels plays a big role in how the tires will fit. for instance, I have 225/50/15 tires on my 15x7 wheels, and if i lowered to 2", I'd almost certainly need to have the fender rolled due to the +37 offset of the wheels. However, people with +42 or greater offsets probably would not need to have the fender rolled.
Also, the amount of negative camber you run in the rear affects how wide you can go. On the ep3, the rear fenderwell is the tighter one, up front, there is an ungodly amount of clearance.
now if you're talking about a civic coupe, then this is the wrong forum. the ep3 has more fender clearance than the 2003 civic coupes.

Tch... forgot... didn't mention he had an Si but I guess it should've been expected... mah bad.
I thought he had a coupe considering he asked about putting the RSX-R wing on a 2003 Civic... and that would never fit an Si hatchback.

Guess i can't be of much help if I don't know what kind of Civic you got.

That changes everything we've said ...
you probably cannot fit larger than 205/45/17 ---
