d15 cam vs d16a6 cam?
If you used the stock D15 head and block and just converted to MPFI then there is no need for an ADJ cam gear. If you had done a mini-me conversion and used the D16Z6 head then you would be 1/2 tooth off with the timing and that would require a cam gear to correct it.
BTW: the D15 head and the D16 head are the EXACT same casting. Only the interals are different. Obviousy the cam is different, but you "might" also need to change out for D16 springs and retainers. I say "might" because the replacement part numbers are exactly the same, BUT people have said that the original D15 springs and retainers are different.

Yes, you will need to get a adjustable cam gear if you plan on swapping in an D16A6 si cam. The cam timing will be about 4 degrees retarded and you will need an adjustable cam gear to advance it back to 0. The reason why it's like this because the 1.6 si timing belt has more notches than a 1.5, hence the taller motor height. So no matter what, the timing belt on the 1.5 will either be too retarded or too advanced so right in the middle of the notches would be actual correct timing.
