Default Clutch engaugment problem

I swapped a D16Z6 into my civic, and I didn't have a clutch alinment tool or a new throw out bearing at 2:30am...

I can **** the tranny with the engine running ( and of course it doesn't move ). It will shift with the clutch pushed in or out ( like the clutch is always pushed in ). If I put it in 4th gear the rpms drop about 2-300 rpms, but it doesn't even move the car at all. I've tried adjusting the cable on the tranny and I can feel the difference in pedal when I adjust it, but no matter where I put the adjuster, the car still doesn't move.

DX tranny, D16D6 clutch and flywheel.

Let me get this straight.
You can shift the tranny while the engine is on, whether you step on the clutch pedal or not, and the car will not move, even if you have it in gear, and release the clutch pedal, right?

yep... motor runs with 8.4/1 compression, but not with the same tranny I'm had for the last 1 1/2... Kinda wanted to see how much power I lost..

When you re-installed the used throwout bearing, did you install the spring on it correctly?

Honestly, it sounds like that's your problem. I'd double check that it was done correctly. While your at it, get a new T/O bearing and spring.

First of all find a friend that KNOWS how to replace a clutch. J/p, but seriously, have someone whos sure rip it apart and recheck it.
