Default Tire Size Question.

I have a 93 EX(-R) with stock tires of 195/60/15. Can that rim accept a 205/55/15?

why not? the rim is the same size and your using a smaller tire (55 as opposed to the 60.) it'll actually fit with more clearance than the stock ones.

yea they'll fit, but they will be smaller than stock. Tires will probably bulge out a little, and you might scrape more if your car is lowered (since the smaller tires effectively lower your car a tiny bit).

Well, you didn't say what size the wheel is, but given the closeness in size, I doubt if there will be any problems. As to the discusions above regarding the diameter of the 205-55-15 being smaller, well it is, but not by much. 195-60-15 = 24.21", 205-55-15 = 23.88".

i'm running 205/60/15 on my 94 accord ex coupe and it's fine, fitwise. no rubbing or no nothing of any kind. i'm thinking i'll go back to 195 next time tho. unless you can find a tire with a REALLY stiff sidewall, don't bother going so wide. it'll just roll over all the time. i end up driving on my sidewalls more than my tread, even when 4 psi over the reccomended max.

Actually i think i'm just gonna stick with the 195/60/15's cause the cops are trying to pull some quick bullshit laws around here. Anything out of factory spec is questioned.
