What order do I put my crossover and equalizer in?
I have CDA-7983 h/u with 3 preouts, I just bought a 8 channel crossover and a 2channel 11 band equalizer. I have separate amps for my type rs and my subs. What order do I put them in?
front output on the head goes to the EQ. The output on the EQ goes to the in on thge x-over. The outsa on the x-over go to the in's on the appropriate amps
I am guessing since you said you have an 8 channel crossover that it has more than one input and more than one output. Since you have a two channel 11 band equalizer I would assume you want to use this for your mids and tweets. For this follow rcurley's directions.
If you have subs connect the sub preout to the sub input of the crossover then connect the sub output of the crossover to the sub amplifier.
If you have subs connect the sub preout to the sub input of the crossover then connect the sub output of the crossover to the sub amplifier.
Thanks guys. I'm running the EQ to the tweets, right, so I won't use anything under 80-120ish (still trying to find what sounds best) what do I do with the frequencies that get cut of by the cross-over? do I leave them at the lowest setting?
if you dont have in-line cross-overs for the tweets, you need to hook up to the tweeter side or the "high"side or you will blow them.head goes to eq,then to crossover.tweets need to be crossed over at about 3000 khz, mids 400-3000 khz,mid-bass 80-400hz,subs 80 and down.
I have the type r-s so there is a inline cross over, how do I get mid-bass if I don't have 6X9's? I have 6.5 and 5.25's both type rs.
