Do you have I/E? If you dont, thats holding you back aton. Also, get the 8 pound pulley, that will help alot also, but I wouldnt do that until you find this problem. Your timing is awfully high isnt it? I only have mine at +2 degrees. What is your fuel psi?

Same thing happened to my car. I was putting down like stock numbers. Turned out I had cracked ringlands, rings, cracked pistons. It was a mess. Do a leakdown and compression test to find out whats going on inside.

do that before you invest in more tuning, That way you know your engine is mechanically sound

Do a dry and wet compression test first and tell us the results.

It could be your timing or the dyno wasn't calibrated right, i suggest you take it back to the person or have it tuend by a liscensed professional from hondata

I would agree with going for the compression test. Sounds like something is wrong inside, but who knows. I would go to the guy that tuned it and make him re-do it for free. It doesnt take a genious to figure out that you should be putting down way more than that. My buddy with a JRSC on a SOHC Civic put down 159 with the stock pully and tuing, you should for sure be getting over 200.

My $0.02, Good luck

What was your baseline run??

You can't blame the tuner right away. There are so many different variables that can come into play.

If for instance, you did a base line run and made 120whp. Then the tuner did his job by getting you 170whp with your setup..

If however your baseline run was 169whp and he got you 170whp then that's different story.

I say do a compression check... might be a ringland or ring or you belt might have been slipping and you didn't know it is a another suggestion.

First of all, the people making 200+whp with a JRSC are the people who also put a LOT more work and tuning into their setups. They are the "above average". Most are also running well over the base 6psi boost setting, usualy 8-10psi.

It sounds to me like you need to hook up a wideband O2 while on the dyno and get some accurate A/F's plot with your revs and tune from there. Also how much ignition retard did you dial in, and how?

Put like a tablespoon or two of oil in ur cylinder when you do a compression check. If it rises 30 psi or more above your normal readings, your rings might be shot. This is because oil creates a better seal for the piston.

I'm assuming your base map was shitty since most people have 440's and Hondata.

Without a decent basemap to work with or excellent tuning by your tuner I'd expect low numbers.

P.S. What was the torque?
