Default 90 Civic, B16, it is also gay and never runs for more than 3 days at a time please help!!!

Alright my car has been a constant pain in the *** since i got it about 6months ago im gonna say. i bought it for 3 g's. it has a b16 in it, a cheap intake, and 2 1/2 inch exhaust to a Tsudo Fireball carbon fiber pipe.

when i got the car it was slammed with cut springs (fucked up camber and scraping on everything), do to the 4 inch drop it ripped the only plug out, and i had to change the pan out. after that, i switched the springs on it, installed a tach, a short throw, new Hasport Shift Linkage (because the guy who did the swap on my car was obviously the most stupid person alive).

ok so i got all this done and drove it for 2 weeks. i would say then my dad though it would be a good idea to change ball joints so i did that, and then, it started popping out of 5th gear whenever it felt like it. finally it popped on night and threw the axle out of the transmission. it fucked up the whole tranny and everything, so i bought a new LS tranny and an ACT clutch for around 1000 or 1200 total (really good ACT clutch ).

ok so then i get it running drive it for a while, then the axle blows out again but this time not fromt he tranny but up by the hub. its been sittin in my driveway, i finally got around to workin on it.

i bought another b16 hatch that didnt have a head on it or an ECU, and it had a Greddy header on it so i fuigred why not put that on. i started this project not knowing i would have to highly modify the crossmember, so i did it anyway and finihsed that. then put the axles off the other car in my car, and set it down and drove it for 2 days, which leadds me to my problem now.

as soon as i got the car done and drove it around town for about an hour, the turn signals, temp gauge and gas gauge just stopped workin. i replaced the fuse, and as soon as i turned ont he turning signal it blew again. also i put this new exhaust on which is majorly fucked up and leaking from the header and every where else, but i cant tell if my VTEC is workin or not.

it still runs pretty much the same, i've never drove a b-sereis without vtec so i dont know how much a difference it would make, but im sure i would feel it right? when i had my old exhaust on i could hear it come on but now i cant hear it with the new exhaust. my tach also quit workin, i dont know why, its gay.

now it wont start and i was turning it over 2 days ago and the main wire to the distibutor starting burning and melted. its not gettin spark, i've had problems with wiring and CEL ever since i got this car, and all my wiring is manually ran and really messed up. i have the harness out of that other car, but i dont know if it will be worth it to switch it over.

my 2 options are im gonna pull the motor, do all the body work and paint and rewire EVERYTHING, and build the motor some (pistons, rods, cams, valves, springs, retainers, pretty much everything). i was also thinkin about buying a new hatch, and doing the switchover on a clean car with good suspension and everything. also having a nice car, i dont know what to do.

im only 16 and i refuse to get a job so im making my dad pay for everything, hes a nice guy : ).

well anyway please give me some feedback i need your help. thanks

Your dad is paying for everything? Talk about a nice guy... sheesh. Keep things cheap; he's doing you a favour, so don't do a full buildup on his cash. That would be ghey.

Instead, focus on getting the car running. It might be worth it to pull the entire wiring harness, and buy a complete and unmolested wiring harness from a wrecking yard. I'm talking FULL harness, interior and exterior, from a completely stock car. While that's out of the car, modify it and do all the work yourself - do the VTEC changeover. You didn't say if you have a DX/STD or MPFI. Either way, get your own wiring and redo it all. Then you know it's not a wiring problem.

Next is to figure out why everything is blowing. Your alt might be overcharging the system; check the voltage output under light throttle.

Mechanical problems are next. Once the electricals are fine then take the exhaust to a shop and get it fixed.

Don't even think about building the engine up, just think about getting it fixed or selling it - 'cause otherwise you'll have nothing but problems. Start from a clean baseline, forget all the go-fast crap, and just get it RUNNING.
