B16 Tranny Trouble, HELP!
Ok so heres the story..
I bought a 94 del sol VTEC with the original B16A3 and B16 tranny with 218k miles. It runs great and has plenty of power. I bought it with plans of fixing it up as a fun weekend car for me and the lady to cruise around in. While driving last week i went to shift from 1st to 2nd and suddenly i had nothing. Put it in every gear and let the clutch out and the car wouldnt move. After a ton of online searching i decided i needed a new clutch. I have NO tranny experience and had no idea what i was doing but i do a lot of auto mechanic work besides trannys and there are multiple detailed write-ups for it online. So this saturday me and a friend dive in and put a new clutch in the car and since were already in the moment we replaced the slave and master cylinders as well. we finished everything up much faster than expected and went back through and double checked everything to make sure we didnt screw up. We lowered the car and took it for a test drive and WOW! clutch grabbed great and it was back to its former glory... for about 5 miles. On the way back home from the test drive i came to a stop sign. I took off from the stop sign in first gear and when i hit about 2.5k rpms the thing just revved up. I shifted into every gear and nothing again! When i put it in gear and let the clutch out i can hear a sound coming from the tranny, it sounds like something spinning or something. I have no idea what this could be.
Can somebody please tell me what this could be and how i should go about fixing it?

Speedo moving? There's about a 99.99% chance one axle wasn't seated correctly and it popped out. If it happens to be on the passenger's side you can pop it back in with a 2x4, simply put the end up against the inner joint, use the shock tower as a fulcrum and give the 2x4 a quick snap. If it's the other side you'll have to pull the axle and shove it back in making sure it seats this time.

If it pops out again and again you just need new snap rings on the inner c/v splines. Possible you have some bad motor mounts also causing eng/trans assembly to be in disagreement w/axle angles. The rear mount is really important in hondas. Push on valve cover by hand (car in neutral)towards and away from firewall. The engine shouldn't move any more than about 1/4 inch max. Any more and you have bad mounts for sure.

Found the problem! Axle was popped out about an inch and the differential sheared the teeth right off the end. Had to buy a new CV axle but luckily no damage at all to the differential ot tranny. Thanks for all the help!

Me too, file the splines a lil bit, replace bad snap ring and Presto! 0$ fix...in my case. Inner c/v joint is all that needed replaced in this case if the end was sheared. Oh well some people like wasting $.
