Default missed a gear, possible underlying problems?

i was redlining 2nd gear last night and i missed 3rd. my rpm went to about 9.5k. my head is fully build with skunk2 stuff including high compression valves springs and ti. ret. i did a compression test and cyl. 1, 2, 4 were at 210 and 3 was at 195. seems ok to me and maybe i got lucky. the thing is my battery light came on and it wont go out. is this a sign of a major problem? what could be causing that? thanks guys

no, it didnt go into any gear. i was shifting into 3rd and let the clutch out to soon and the car never went into third. i didnt mis-shift, just missed the gear entirely

thats what i would think, unless ecu doesn't have rev limiter..

whenever i missed gear, it would always hit rev limiter

9500rpm is not high. Check your alt. belt.

yea the belt is totally gone, not even on the car anymore. so i was going to change it today, but i seem to be having trouble getting the nut off the bottom of the alternator so i can rotate it and get the belt on. any ideas on how to make this job easier?

PB Blaster/WD40 and a big wrench. Jack up the car and get at it from underneath.
