Default Coil Over Question?

Ok when i installed my Coilover kit i did not put in the coilover top cap that came with the kit. I just used the old but very good rubber caps that the stock struts have. Is this a bad thing or a ok thing to do. The car is bouncy when i hit a good bump especially when i have a passenger. I need all the help i can get im still new in this game.

thanks
JD

What kinda coilovers do you have? The bouncyness might just be because of the brand of coilovers you have, usually the cheaper brands are really stiff.

Ahh, Ye olde Ebay special. Thats why you're bouncy, that and if you slammed the car real low thatll make it bouncy too. Only thing you can do is 1) get different coilovers, and/or 2) get some adjustable struts/shocks so itll dampen all the bouncing. As for your top hats question i have no idea. BTW did you cut your bumpstops in half? if not you might can try that. Itll give you a little more suspension travel.

yea, ur ride sucks because the shocks arent valved enough for the spring and ride height. get urself some real sus and ull be ridin pritty. im running these super secret daiyama coilovers and there awsome. the ride is good and there work awsome for autox (which is what i mainly do)

So yea, cut those foam bumpstops in half, itll help keep you from bottoming out more often (gives you about a half inch to 3/4 inch more travel, but that wont fix the bumpyness as much. You COULD get adjustable struts/shocks but it might be way too stiff for your liking. So, best bet if you dont wanna spend TOO much is to get some used Ground Control Coilover sleeves and some adjustable struts. If you get used coilovers, make sure you inspect the threads on the sleeve to make sure theyre not damaged.... Sorry bout your situation man...ebay strikes again
