Default What size brake ducting ?

My first thought was 3" ducting but when looking at the space that the ducts will have to fit I think ever 2.5" will be challanging..

whats the general consensus?

What works and whats insufficient?

Thanks!!!

2.5 will work, if you don't think so try this: go get some 2.5" tubing at lows and on the ride home have a friend hold one end of the tubing out the window, and put the other end up about 6" from your head. (lol, I did this). You will get a nice bust of air blowing your hair all over. You should still have plenty of air flow with 2.5".

Surface area for a circular opening is pi(r^2) correct?

Use 3" not 2.5" - and yes, it is a major PITA to get any ducting to the front left bumper because of the washer bottle but you can, with some futzing, get it attached (and it is pretty much the same PITA to get 2.5" attached there too). JMO

Its just an Improved Touring rule. If its not stated that it can be removed, you cannot according to the GCR (SCCA rulebook). Not saying I particularly like it as it applies to the washer bottle but them's the rules ya know. (and just assumed this as pertinent to Want2Race's question because of the "1989 ITA CRX -Privately funded" signature)

What about drilling a hole in it? It's not technically removing it. Could duct tape it back on somewhere else, actually...

It depends on the car. On my car, the space alongside the bottom corners of the radiators only fits two-inch ducting - and that's the only place the ducting can go through, with my current setup.
