ALL motor LS question.. am i nuts?
i know you cant put ctr/itr pistion on ur ls rods in a ls motor b/c of clearance issues. but if u put on a b16 head with out installin the VTEC, you use use ctr/itr pistion bc that would up ur compresstion ... what would be need to do this? it should be like a ls head only with bigger vallves! is this possblie or am i crazy? my goal is to go all motot LS with no VTEC

Removing VTEC? What's so dumb about that? I'm doing that on my B18C5.

hmmm.. allmotor LS...I would just stick with a Ls head. I use to have a eg with a LS the car ran 13.6@101mph and had a 2.0 60 ft my setup was:
itr pistons
LdL ported head
Crower 403 cams
Gsr tranny
skunk 2 manifold
heavy duty clutch
the car was never tuned and could have ran much faster.
good luck with your setup.

integra type R pistons do fit on ls rod,you just have to machine down the small end of the rod,so that it fits into the piston.
Bin there done that!
compression with tyre R head becomes,11.2:1

Than 100% of the people you have talked to are completely retarted. Any b series vtec piston will work, all you have to do is remove 1mm of material off each side of the piston end on your ls rods. I'll be doing this when I drop in some pct pistons soon.

This is the most ignorant thing I have read all day. You are going to be extremely suprised of what may pop up in Pro all motor classes next season.

until i am proven wrong i cant believe it has potential.
now you say pro all motor huh. that might include over boring which would not be this combination would it.

heres the goal: i want to vtec pistions in my all motor LS, i know its possible to do. just like its possible to swallow beach, but its not safe.. i want a higher domed oem piston (vtec pistions)
I can assure you 100% that ctr pistons will work in an ls with stock cams, or 403's. I've heard mixed opinions on 404's with pct's, but I plan on finding out for myself. I've been informed that 404 cams with civic type r pistons will net a 12.9:1 CR, but according to online compression calculators, it will be less than 11.5:1. Anyway, if you plan on crazy cams, itr pistons should suffice. I can assure you however, that both ctr and itr will have no valve clearance problems on a stock cam'd/mild cam'd ls.
