vtec engagement at what rpm?
basically i just wanna know how you can tell the optimum vtec engagement point.
heres my setup:
b16a
i/h/e
ctr cams
skunk2 valve springs
skunk2 retainers
rev valves
mugen head gasket
spoon vtec controller
without dyno or track tested is there anyway to really know what the best vtec engagement point is? are there some guidlines im missing or somthing? can somebody help me out here

i second that...get your car dynoed so you can find out at what rpm you need to set your vtec to engage. Mine's set at 6000 rpm
Just like everyone else says, no way to tell until you get some dyno time. You could always mess around with the vtec controller for engaugement points since some motor combos work better before 5k some after while driving at the track or an empty road away from town. Best bet, hondata and a dyno.

I would guess between 5,500 - 6,000 rpm would be a good starting point. Go to a damn dyno. Most places do the 3 run special. Low Vtec run 1, High Vtec run two, pick the spot and choose that for run 3 and see what ya got.
