Anybody ever heard of/ seen a "thingy" that plugs into your cabin fuse box to get 12v from?
Kinda like a fake fuse, except you can use it to draw 12v power from your car without hacking into any wiring.....
I believe RStoR told me about these one time, but I can't find them anywhere.....

no...nothing that "looks" like a fuse, but there is 12v out at one of the sockets above the myriad of fuses
above all your fuses on the interior fuse "box"... you'll see little plugs, which you can use a female connector to plug into, some of them are different, 12v constant, 12v switch, acc.. etc.
HTH
i'm not sure which one is which.. but a test light will determine that for you.

I bought one of those things you are looking for. I either bought it from Radio Shack or Pep Boys. It looks like a fuse and plugs directly into the fuse socket. There is a wire coming off of it so you can tap into the 12V, and the top of the device has another socket so you can plug in a fuse of your choice.

Just pull the 5 amp fuses out and put 10 amp fuses in their place...viola, 20A counterpart.
