Default How do you guys afford this?

Im not hatin on anyone, just wonderin. But how do you guys afford to be a new S2000 and then start modifying it? I think the reason that most of got onto hondas is because they are cheap to buy/maintain/modify which means most of us are broke. **** if i had the money i woulda started out with a supra or somethin. Just wondering why you guys are so rich.

I'm in the Military. I'm not rich. Cars are my hobby, I don't drink, don't smoke, don't go out clubbing very much. Fun for me is working on my cars. The S2000 is actually my transportation, the CRX is my real hobby. It's all about where your priorities are.

As long as you have a nice job, there should be no reason you can't afford a S2000 and the mods for it. As long as you don't spend your paycheck foolishly, you should be fine.

Also it's not all young people who own S2000's.

The car isn't THAT expensive. What about all the people rockin Merdeces CL600's and whatnot? For an S2000, any simple steady job will work. Even waiter/waitress jobs will suffice.

I got mine for $26k. Wasn't too hard for my wife and I to take the payments. She works for a credit union so that did help us get the loan, and a good rate.

Also a lot of people here don't modify their S's. Mine is gonna stay stock for a loong time.

Mine will stay stock (except my wheels I've got Team 5Zigen fighter rims) Until I pay it off and then I'll probably turn it into my tinker toy track car and go full out for SCCA events etc.

S2000s really aren't all that expensive. Lots of trucks cost more than an S2000.

just saw this comment and i too am glad to hear i'm not alone. being seventeen sucks when you want an s2000, but i'll be havin an s2200 by the time i'm out on my own makin that cash.
I respect those of you who can easily afford honda's flagships, it means youve got good money making/managing skills.. let's just hope none of it is managing where you keep your parent's credit cards

You think owning an S2000 when you are 17 is a good idea?

I saved $5k cash, sold my civic for $5k, and used all that on a down payment for a used '00 with 30k miles. It cost me less than 24k with tax. Not spending all your money on food, drugs, cigarettes, and beer helps too.

So now here I am, 20 (21 in a week) with an s2000 that I bought all by myself.

Just save up.

yeah ain't that the truth. people cant believe i can afford an s2k with the job i have. its all about spending your money wisely and being a smart person. some people just don't know how to manage their money.

A few reasons I have been able to afford my current and past cars:
Hard work, great marriage (to my best friend), good friends, time managment skillz - and never underestimate the power of good credit.
