Default Whats the median [header topic]

Just wondering what your guys input is on this - I am rebuilding my motor [hopefully Sakai is]... but anyway its been stock for a long time and now I might as well upgrade..

So the usual suspects for header choice is JDM R 4-1, but from Steve's reccomendation he said to try something a lil better. What comes to my mind first is Toda, and then I think $$$...

Now I'm not out here trying to make my car #1 HP machine or whatever, I just want a motor thats reliable and I can finally take to the track and not worry about it blowing up..

So anyone have a median btwn JDM R 4-1 vs. Toda 4-2-1..?

Some choices I have found..

- AN-R header [one that looks like a turbo manifold, can clear fullsize radiators
- JG 4-2-1 w. custom 2.5in collector

i'd go toda or smsp.. just get the best header available, don't save money cause header makes the most out of 3 basic bolt ons - I/H/E..

if you plan to keep your stuff all motor, you'll regret not getting a better header, or you might spend more money in the long run upgrading..

When you look at the averages instead of the peak hp, a $1000 header only makes between 1hp and 1.7hp more than a $350 JDM header.

Untuned on a nearly stock motor.

George Knighton and Austin can attest to the benefits of a high-quality header and proper tuning.

I'm sure they know their peak hp number, but do they know their 3,000-8,400rpm average hp, or their 6,000-8,400rpm average hp? Thats really whats important.

You may just be putting too much stock in that old header test.
