Check out Infinity Kappa's, their pretty cheap and they sound really nice. Only problem you might run into is their pretty deep. Also look at focal's, and Infinity Reference, depending on how much you wanna spend, they have slim 6.5" Infinity References that sound real nice and can be had for around $65/pair. Again let us know what your budget is.

Go to your local audio shop and audition some speakers. IMO some things that sound good to others won't sound good to you. Might want to check out polks or pioneers if you don't plan on running an amp.

yeah i plan to spend no more than 100 bucks on speakers. i have tried to go places and listen first but it almost always ends up sounding different in the car. just lookin for some good all around speakers. that will seal well the door and not cause to many mounting problems. my current speakers cost me 30 bucks and sounded great in the store (i didnt really expect 30 dollar speakers to work well anyways so its my fault for getting them) but the mounting kit then came with straight sucks and was able to only put 1 screw per speaker .

A couple of pioneers will sound good. They got a good amount of bass if thats what you're looking for. They sounded good in my moms station wagon and we had four.

focal access series, or if you want to go with something you can take with you forever, go for the focal polyglass.. they have components (*I know you said you didn't want to mount tweeters but just wait) and the midbass drivers are EXTREMELY thin.
"With 1.9 inch and 2.2 inch mounting depths, the 130 V Slim and the 165 V Slim are perfect for many installation dilemmas."

focals are too pricey to be putting in a stripped hatch, easy to steal as well, i'd go with something cheaper like some alpines or kenwoods, even prestige, they all sound good for the money
