what's that smell??
i have had this befoire i looked at everything then i looked at my battery and it was buldging like it was going to explode apparently it went bad and was being over charged or something i replaced it and the smell went awqay

i'd bet money your cat's going bad. when i was turboed, my a/f was rich as ****. everytime i'd come to a stop after boosting hard, you could smell rotten eggs from under my car ... where the cat is. I felt sorry for the people around me.
but rotten eggs is a tell-tale sign of a bad catalytic converter or one that's just being clogged full of **** (i.e. rich a/f ratio).

its the cat going bad, not getting too hot.
