The other day I start my car after work and without warming it up I take off. A few minutes later the check engine light comes on. It has happened one other time and I reset the ecu and it went away untill now. I took it to Acura a few months ago and they told me that my cat took longer than normal to completely heat up. I was wondering if the check engine light came on because my cat wasnt fully warm before I started driving? Does this sound right and if not what could be?

 

depends on what CEL? for secondary o2 sensor, then yes. it checks to see if your cat is working properly
