EK owners with Spoon mirrors...
Just curious if you guys had to remove the whole door panel in order to install them? I haven't really touched that area of my car in years and I forget what I have to remove in order to replace my side mirrors. I remember that there was some clip that held the manual window roller handle in place that was a pain for me to get off. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!
You really don't need to remove much, just the little black triangles at the back of the mirror. it is a little harder but you can do it that way, i did with my folding mirrors.
thats exactly how i put my mirrors on. Just pull off that little triangle piece, and then you will see 3 screws and just take those out and the mirror comes right off.
try to find an open-ended wrench to use. it'll be hard to fit a socket on the lowest of the three. i cracked my panel slightly before i tracked down my little wrench. oops.
So are you supposed to just pull the triangle pieces off with force?
I am thinking about buying the Spoon replica styles that are powered...I have an EX and there are also tweeters attached to the triangle piece. How do I go about doing this?
And are the powers just plug and play?
If anyone could fill me in, that'd be much appreciated.
Thanks

You need a small flat blade screw driver and then you have to put the screwdriver in from the top and use some force to pop the triangle piece off. At the bottom of the triangle piece it has a little lip at the bottom that goes down into your door panel slightly
