F22A1 to F22A6 changes
I know this must have been answered in some form over multiple posts, but I couldn't think of the right words for a search I guess.
Basically, I'm going to a junker this Thursday and I'd love to do a cheap F22A6 conversion if I find an EX-R in good shape (I'm mainly going for interior parts otherwise). So, I'm trying to make a list of what parts I'll need.
For sure:
Intake Manifold/Plenum/Throttle body (probably not the throttle body, but meh)
Exhaust header + downpipe
EX-R ECU (Can anyone tell me if I must get an EX-R manual ECU? Given I have a manual LX, I'm guessing I can't use the EX-R auto ECU)
Things I'm not positive about:
I think at some point someone confirmed the camshafts are different by looking at Honda Automotive Parts. This is one day where I wish I had a Helms.
I think that's it, I remembered someone saying the bottom internals are the same and such. Can anyone give me a helpful nudge here?

you dont need the EXR ecu, you just have to plug the IAB valve (second set of intake runners) up to the back of the manifold via a vacuum line. this will open the valve at full throttle and leave them closed at idle- much like the EXR ecu, except now they will open before 4000 rpm= more hp at lower rpm.
the camshafts are different between the f22a6 and the f22a1, but the difference in lift/duration isnt enough to put the time into...unless you have the time to spend that is.
i have done this conversion so i can answer any questions you may have.
you will also need a four prong O2 extension cord (from the dealership) due to the relocation of the O2 sensor (it is on the downpipe on the f22a6 rather than the manifold)

Thanks a ton for the kickass help. I may bug you again later if I do find a good EX-R, but that sounds simple enough.
I was hesitant on the camshaft already, and I figured it wouldn't be worth it. This just confirms it.
