Autometer temp gauge sensor location?
I recall a while back there was a discussion about where to mount the thermostat sensor and I remember seeing a piece that would slide into your radiator hose and it had a spot for the sensor. Does anyone know what I am talking about? If so where can I find one?
-Thanks
-Thanks
I bought one off ebay - but I can't find one on there right now.
[edit] here's two stores - I don't know anything about either of them.

Thanks Jeff for the info, but I do not have a Greddy gauge and I don't think this would work. Anyone else have any ideas?
We found that the Autometer electrical sender has the same threads as the stock one-so out with the stock and in with the Autometer. The location is the correct point for the most accurate reading. No-you cannot use the replacement sender with the stock gauge and there is really no way to get the same reading in another location so it seems. Just my experience.
Check out http://www.nissport.com. The have your solution

I'm wondering the same thing...I have a temp gauge sitting at home but haven't installed it because I've been unable to answer this myself.
The post about http://www.nissport.com - the link doesn't seem to work?
*EDIT* What the hell, now it works...

I don't know about your cars, but on a H22A1 (Prelude) engine, there is a separate coolant temp sensor dedicated just for the gauge. There's a separate one for the ECU.
The ThermoSwitch is not the same as the Temp Sender. The sensor sending data tot he ECU is also a separate device. The fans are operated by that. You do not need to use the stock gauge or sender but can with any number of fittings. Keep in mind that the sender must be in the correct location in the water to read accurately.
Where is the temp sensor that is connected to the ECU/Fan switch located?
I know on the CRX for example, that the sensor connected to the temp gauge is located right underneath the distributor...right? So I should be able to just remove the stock sender and screw in the one for my autometer temp gauge?
Good info guys.

I thought it was 32mm, but I can't find anything to confirm that right now.
