at what time during a race should you down shift... also what gear does vtec in my b16 kick in or at what rpm

 

it might not be a good idea to downshift <U>during</U> a race.

 

Thats what i thought ,, but someone the other day was talking about how they would down shift for just a sec. then would though it back.....i didnt think that would help.....but thanks for straiting that out for me..

 

this one guy i know from the secret 007 channel #crx (epidemik)
he can downshift like crzy, one time we were racing and he downshifted like 3 times. i tried to count, but it sounded like the way the dirtbike sounds in the movie Terminator 2, so i couldnt be sure. all i have to say is wow that epidemik can drive.
when i get the money i will have a taurus SHO

i wouldnt think you would DOWN shift DURINg a race.

 

if you are already rolling when you start racing, i always downshift really quick at start and punch it, it gives me that extra jump over the noob drivers.
if your starting from a stop there is no point in downshifting unless maby for turns?
