one of the differences between the obd2a and obd2b, are the plugs that go into the ECU are not the same, basically if you are converting from obd2 to obd1, just make sure you have the correct conversion harness for the ECU.

2b has the factory immobilizer. The plugs are the same from what I've seen first hand. . .

Plugs are not the same...
99-00 civics and 99-01 integras are obd2b
96-98 civics and 96-98 integras are obd2a

If you try to plug an obd2b ecu to a obd2a car or vice versa..it will not plug up..i promise you.

puhaHAha..i bet other Honda-Tech'ers are wondering what the crap we are saying..lol...but its Vietnamese food..lol...I was mentioning food because of Pho Real's name...Pho is a vietnamese beef noodle soup..it is damn good!! hehe..but yeah..back to the original post..i also believe the immobilizer came on every 98-00 honda except civics, non-v6 accords, and CRVs.....As for Acura's the immobilizer should have been on " EVERY " car from 99+
