Just ordered this....now what...(b16 4-2-1 header)
I just ordered a Greddy 4-2-1 SS header for my b16.
I'm pretty sure that it will clear the stock crossmember...shouldn't it?
Will I have to modify the header/O2 sensors?
The header is for the 99-00 civic si btw
here's a general pic of it.
does anyone else use this header? whats your opinons on it?
It has already been ordered so no "get the jdm itr header...they sit way too low"

That should fit fine, my dc 4-2-1 fit great. Plug up the o2 bung, and get 2 new ones welded in factory locations. Ryan
I guess it will be a one piece, or two. And I can get someone to weld me some Bungs in the right spot.
Couldn't I get a computer chip to go to one o2 also?

I'm not 15 look closely at the names... they are two different people.
Are you sure that the Greddy header is a two piece. Or are you just saying that because of the picture?
I'm 18 and I find the word Bung funny still!

A 1 peice? Are you nutts? Look @ the picture, you can see where the DP bolts to the header. He said that is the one he ordered.

hey blaze the picture that is shown if you look in the fine print on the pic it says that image may not be for specific vehicle, which means its just a general pic of one. i went to greddys website and looked for myself and i suggest you do the same. it clearly states 1 piece

I notched mine just in case. I'd hate to have to notch it after I had already installed it.

Yes. Plug the pre-fab bung. Here's what i did with my "bungs".
I drilled two holes into the header (where the factory has the O2 sensors). bought two nuts that have the same thread pitch as the o2 sensors.
took it to an exhaust shop, had them weld it on. Bam. doesn't look the greatest, but works.

I'm 20 and I find the word bung funny too, I'll never get enough of bevis and butthead
. Anyways, I think you made a good choice, I opted for the Comptech 4-2-1 1 piece, and I hope that mine will clear too.
And do what the others said and plug the one o2 sensor and go to an exhaust shop and get the other two put on where they are from the factory.

I bought my comptech used, it was $325 and in what looks like good condition - I haven't gotten it yet
But I'm in the same boat as you, I go back to school too in a month and a half and am trying to do all I can while I am working full time, so
to us. And I'm running obd1 so I can't help you with the picture.

UPDATE:
Sadly, I had to cancel my order on the header.
But for good reasons. Its too hot in Augusta, like sticky butt nasty hot. My gf coerced me into getting my new a/c compressor. I'm glad she did.
Its ok though, b/c I still have a new set of shocks and ss brake lines coming in.....and maybe...just maybe options will screw up and throw in the header for free or something crazy like that.

well, for future reference-
When you are ready to put in the header and need new O2 bungs, buy a couple of 18mm spark plub non-foulers (the biggest ones in the HELP! section at Advance/Discount Auto Parts). They are more thin-walled than 18mm nuts and will sit down in the header tube, leaving only about 1/4" sticking up above the surface. Your exhaust shop should keep these in stock anyway. When you get the non-foulers, you will have to cut off one end with either a lathe or saw.
