I was driving last night on the street and my car shut off by itself. I tried to start it again and it doesnt' start no more. I checked to see if my fuel cut off switch fucked up and it wasn't that. so I towed it to a shop and the guy is saying that there is no spark and it is probably the engine computer which is by the fire ball. and I have to replace that. I never knew there is an engine computer other than ECU anyways. anyways he said I need to replace it.
does anyone know what this engine computer is? and does it matter if it is a gsr or an LS?

Sounds like your igniter or coil in you distributor went bad.

 

where is this located at?
and can you tell me how much it is?

They're located in the distributor assy. As far as prices goes, call a dealership. I'm really not sure.

 

Junkyard!! Dealership ignitors are insanely high

 

Dealers can eat a dick and so can CKS/Autozone. They want $250 bucks for a complete dizzy! $110 for the ignitor, I didnt dare ask about the coil.
