Default Type R shock question

Will stock Type R shocks fit a 98 Civic EX. I was just thinking about it and wasnt sure I think they will. I have some ground control coilovers and stock shocks on my car but Im looking for some shocks and this thought ran throw my head. Is there any benefit of using these instead of say some Tokiko's?

yes, the shocks will fit on a 98 ex. the front will bolt in, but the rear requires a different lower control arm available from acura for about $70 a piece. in my opinion, they are the best street spring/shock combo available. they could stand to be a bit lower, but from a performance standpoint, they are excellent.

front works great, rear doesn't work, even if you use ITR LCAs, they are different lenght then EK LCAs....

As an FYI, I bought the ITR LCAs (for a friend) from AH Motor for $48 each. I have no idea if it will work on a '98 Civic or not though. I am swapping the ITR suspension into a 2001 GSR.

So some people say they will fit and others say they will not what is it gonna be. I know I need some shocks soon as I think mine are dead I have killed my factory shocks with my ground control coilovers. I just saw a post about some ITR shocks for sale and thought that they might fit on my 98 Civic EX some say all I need to do is get some rear lower control arms from a ITR and they will work is this true. Let me know someone.

I just did a 5-lug conversion on my 98 civic. I was going to use the suspension from the ITR which you can in the front. The ITR Rear shocks however will for sure not work. You would need the ITR LCA's and they are a different length, about 3.5" too short. So unfortunately you will have to go to an aftermarket or possibly some from a civic si or JDM CTR.

I've been trying find info on "hybrid" suspensions, but most of it is for the EGx and not the EKx hatch back 5 lug conversions....I'm guessing that the hatchback and sedan/coupes share common suspension parts and I will need the rear LCAs for the hatchback if I wanted to put ITR springs+dampeners into it...correct?

Thanks for any info...

If you get new LCA's than you need new ABS lines, if the 98s have ABS..
