Default Running a remote switch for amp

Ok i want to have a switch to turn my amps on and off. I was wondering how to do this. I had ran it from the battery to the switch to the amp once before. But now i have 3 amps. I need a remote going to each one. When i had all three running from one remote wire from the headunit the wires caught on fire. So i don't want to do that again. I rather have them going to a switch which i can turn on and off when i want them on and off. Can i run them all to one switch or do i have to do it all seperate. Can someone give me some info on this sorta thing. Thanks.

You can try running one remote wire to the rear of the car, and do something using that one remote wire as a signal to a control relay so when that turns on it sends power to the remote terminals of all 3 amps. Get the main power from your distrubution block or something. I had a similar setup where i had one remore wire from the deck turn on a relay that controlled 2 fans, an amp and a cap that had a remote terminal.

edit: and you can just put an inline switch in that wire thats run to control the relay. If it comes from the remote from the deck itll only be on when the stereo is on, but you would have the ability to turn them off with the switch whenever you want.

i have a remote switch, i just cut the remote lead, and hooked the positive wire to one end and negative wire to the other end, only thing is there's a delay when you turn the amps back on
