we have been using a basic boost controller on the grand nationals for a long time and decided to incorporate one in the S15 swap we just did. my question is this. if i made these boost controllers, and packaged them, they are basic, no bells and whistles, easy to install, and offer on the fly adjust-ability, would you buy one? they are basic in design. there are only 3 parts. assuming you have a source for manifold vacuum/boost and the nipple on the waste gate. oh and it works on either internal or external waste gates. it works by bleeding the boost the waste gate sees. it isn't like the turbonetics valve, it isn't picky. i will add pics tomorrow as i just got my digital camera working again. msrp on this will be about 60+shipping on it. and takes a few minutes to install. asuming the hole in the firewall is there. if there are more out there same price let me know. i have ordered enough parts for 4 more, one is going in my civic. flame on if necessary. i want real input on this.
thanks in advance.

maybe i am kinda iggnorrant to other styles. i put one in the S15 and my friends said i should try to sell a few. i dont know what is the principal of the ball and spring? the bleeder style has never let me down. ball and spring like the turbonetics valve?

here is the other thing, we have automatics in the buicks. and i thought of that. we have the S15 at 10 now no spike. and i now see the ball and spring. it is simple in design as is this one. i guess once we get the boost up on the sr20, i will see if it spikes. none as of yet. keep it coming.

now seeing the ball and spring, i think the bleeder has a wider range. i know i keep comparing this to the t type but it is the only base i have.
the t type had a TE-32E turbo. internal waste gate set at 12 psi. with the valve closed, was 12 psi. with it fully open, was 26 psi. that was alot of turns. the valve i use works out to be about 1 psi per 1/4 turn.

i as well as some other people ran into boost control problems with the bleeder type. they seem to be really sensitive to the temp outside...i always got a lot of creep and spike with them.
the ball and spring works like a champ. this is the design that hallman uses...im not too sure about turbonectics though.
i had a hallman in my supra with a 1bar wastegate and it let me raise the boost over 2bar with NO creep at all.
ive got another hallman now in my dsm and so far i havent been able to turn the boost up yet, but once i finish my motor build it will see 2bar as well.
you can check out their design on http://www.hallmanboostcontoller.com
ive got the cockpit one on my car and its really nice.

i see everyones point. the bleeder is sensitive with temp because of the barometer as well. and i guess i have never had one of them on a stick car. remember the buicks are automatic. so once the pedal is floored, it stays there. thanks for everyone's input thus far.
