just wondering how many of you guys have wheel hop problems in your EK hatch? coupe? what have tried or have done to resolve this problem?

 

ive had no problems when i ran my EK coupe. ran nitto 555 DRs at 20psi, weapon R coilovers and poly motor mounts. even b4 i had the motor mount inserts i had no problems.

 

i have nittos and absolutly no wheel hop on the street but if i let the clutch out wrong at the track i get it and it breaks my cv joint

 

my hatch doesnt hop, it spins. the only time it hops is when i slip the cluck too long, then it starts to jump

 

maybe traction bars??

 

jimfab traction bars. dont know too much about them, but i have a friend with the z10 bars, which are alot more expensive, and theyre the same thing. they work well for him.

 

I was hoppin like crazy at the track with my hatch and azenis tires. I got an alignment and couldn't believe how much it was off(toe). Now I don't wheel hop any, but I do have poly inserts and nitto DR's at 18psi.

 

my hatch has a ripped driver's mount, so it hops like a ****. my dad's coupe doesn't hop at all, it just spins the tires.

 

my coupe gets wheel hop bad in the dry but if the roads a little wet it'll just spin for days

 

Wheel hop tends to be a lot more prevalent on the cars with good bottom end TQ. I had a lot of issues with wheel hop during hard launches when I was on crappy all season tires and had tired/worn out MMIs.
(EM1 si chassis w/B20v) Thing would shake the whole dash, shoot the trim off my headunit etc. energy suspension inserts, good tires and a set of traction bars made a huge difference though. I'm boosted now, so I get my share of wheelspin on the street but overall I hook really well and hop is all but gone now.
