Well were do I start? Read a post on Ottawaprelude.ca which was posted by Satan.. Selling CF hood through TPC online groupbuy.. I figured if the price was right I would pick one up! Very excited to get this hood. Finally months go by and its time to receive the hood... 16th rolls around...nothing 17th nothing, 18th, 19th 20th finally they found it! It had been sitting in the wearhouse since the 16th but despite repeated calls they could not find a massive hood until the 20th? Go figure. So great finally I'm gonna get my hood. I unfortnatley did not have a truck to pick up the package so I spent an extra 63 dollars to have it delivered to my house... Fine.. So the lady says to me I will have it to ur door in between 9-1 in the afternoon... Great I said its my day off so I'll wait for it... then I will go to the beach afterwords and enjoy the 1 day off I had all week! To make a long story short I called her at 3 in the afternoon grinding my teeth wondering where my hood was... I called back she seemed pretty laid back and had no concern for when I was going to get my package... She said it would be there by 5.... At this point I'm fuming because I really would have liked to have enjoyed one of the most pleasant days of the summer outside somewhere rather than my front porch or my house... I won't even continue w that ***** I could have killed her... she said they could not find something to bring the hood in? I'm thinking these guys are a shipping company and I paid them 63 dollars! Get me the damn hood....

Ok so wow 4:30 rolls around and the guy pulls up.... I'm excited at this point to get my hood! He pulls it out, I sign the paper and start to unpack....looks amazing!!! start to take off my other hood get the thing off... the start to take the big foam pads off the pressure points... This is when I discovered the most disheartening scene....:bang:

Now let me ask u this question.... Who in there right mind would ship 1000's of dollars in Carbon fiber hoods without insurance?!? I called Greyhound and got an insurance form faxed to me and then I called autozeal to ask how much they were insured for... They responded " they were never insured" ..... I though to myself this is all one big nightmare... But I'm still waiting to wake up....:sad:

WHO SHIPS HOODS W NO INSURANCE!!!!! My god this is part my fault for never asking but I thought that no one would be dumb enough to decline insurance... All I can say is I will never be part of a bull**** groupbuy again and I hope whoever gained from this is happy cuz it was at someone elses expense.... Lesson leared I'm stuck w this goddamn hood and I can't do anything about it. I'm VEXED!

I called autozeal and there gonna try and find out if I can get this fixed.. I'll keep u informed on how there customer service handles this problem. I'm hoping between them and VIS they can help me out... Lesson to pass on...Never assume people are smart saving a buck here and there means ****..... Keep u posted... Marc

OK, I got screwed the same way.... greyhound express cracked my hood, and my body shop didn't open the package up till 3 weeks later (i know), so it was too late to file an insurance claim. I lost 500 dollars on a damn CF VIS hood too. First of all, the packaging must be terrible or something. Second lesson to learn. You get what you pay for, I tried to save 50 bucks, but lost 500 instead. and DONT SHIP VIA greyhound express. it put me in the damn hole.

 

The packaging was actually pretty good... I wa very suprised to see the crack. it was were most of the padding was..Kinda makes me suspicious as to weather it was cracked before it was shipped? I've got a bad feeling in my stomach.... Nothing u could do Joel..... I just wish I could have been offered insurance...kinda my own fault I guess... Gotta find a fix though...anyone know if there is a fix for the clearcoat on CF hoods?

 

thats why i use visa..... guess what if i get a fucked up package or shitty customer service. **** em. i aint paying for shiet.

sorry to hear that, is there any paint scheme that would cover up those parts of your hood that would flow with the car and look good.
