Default A VAFC Question that hasn't been asked.

I bought a VAFC for my Type R but like you all know it was stolen. I may get a RSX Type S to replace it. Do you think that the VAFC will work in the Type S b/c I know they work with all V-Tech engines. Obviously it useless til some performance mods come out for the Type S, but will it be worth my while holding on to it.

I paid 300 shipped for it. If you want it, we could meet up tonight. I got it from Diablo and its still sitting in the box.

The problem is that I don't have a car to put anything in right now, so either hold on to it if it works for a type S, which was my original question. Sell it at what I paid for it b/c the VAFC is unopened or return it. So not really looking for trades sorry.

Well the engine is a completely new and different design, and the added VTC variable cam timing may throw a loop into it. I don't think it would work (although the VTEC x-over REALLY needs to be dropped in the S to about 5,500 to keep it in during normal shifting).

My guess is some of the computer tuners are already developing a unit to let you control the VTC (variable cam gear timing) as well as the VTEC stuff.
