just noticed that aem cam gears have 3 bolts while dc sports, str, skunk2 have 5 bolts. does it matter how many bolts they have? are any set of cams better or more reliable then the other?

 

More bolts probably have better resistance to slipping.

 

If the bolts are torqued to the correct specs, they should have no resonable chance of slipping. I have only ever heard heresey about AEM cam gear slippage.

It's kinda like doubling up on condoms, no real extra protection, but it makes you feel better.

And they use the same cam gears on Papadakis race car, that thing makes more power than you could even imagine, feel safe yet. If not double up.

If you are still worried you could always use some low strength loctite to ensure they don't move.
