**BEST cam gear design and BOLTS---vote
Well I'm seeing a lot of post about BEST: rods, headers, head work, bottom end builders, ect. They are all really good post that everyong contributes to and does help eliminate a lot of FAQ about common all-motor parts I hope that the mods can make this a sticky for everyone to refference to before they waste space and post. i know many people don't know how to use search.
Anyways... Lets talk about who makes the best cams gear. I know that in the FI applications if stock cams & setting normally yeild the best power. But in the NA aspect even if you don't have aftermarket cams you can still make power with adjusting you stock cam(s). I'm sure that this applys to vtec, NON-vtec, Sohc, Dohc, D-seires, B-seires, F-seires, H-seires, ect!
By just simply dyno tuning it with a cam gear and FPR you can see some effective gains. So who has the best cam gear(s). Lets take into affect if you want to some of these properties:
*quality of material
*R&D
*Price and bang for the buck
*weight
*overall design (bolt size, degree markings, teeth, ect)
*..... of the bolt itself are prone to striping easly?
Please add what experance you have had with any of them, or what you currently run on your setup. I have made a short list and have left it open for your option to add in other manufactures not listed..... please be responsible & respectible to this form Mods can lock poll option if pepes get childish.

I don't have any personal experience with these, but I like the concept of the design (i.e. the locking pin), and they will definately be the next set of cam sprockets that I purchase. More info here.

golden eagles design looks promising to, alot of ppl think that if its made in america its crap, anybody else think that way? i kinda like some stuff that is made in america
Golden Eagle is the best cam gears I've seen so far. In fact, I have 3 sets of them and can't keep them in stock. All my friends love the laser etch and the simpliest adjustment.

With a 6 bolt design, I have yet to hear of the Skunk2 cam gears slipping. Of course, I have not adjustable cam gears, so I can't comment or really give an opinion. But I would think the 6 bolt design would be a definite plus.

STR's are the easiest to operate and extremely strong. I have changed the bolts in this one as I use a custom cam trigger with it but the quality is the best on the market.

"When Spoon came to visit, they took a look at the different cam gears we offered(U.S. Manufactured). Upon viewing STR gears, they stated that they would use these if their(Spoon) gears were unavailable."
