Default car smoking

My car smokes when i go into boost. Its a blue/black color. It only seems to do it when i go into boost..say over 4psi. It smells icky too. At idle and normal driving it doesnt really do it. But once in boost and i start pushing the car it gets pretty bad.

Although it runs great, no hesitation, or wierd noises. I have my boost set at 15psi which it happily runs at with no detination and pulls very strong.

I have the fuel set a pretty rich in boost..so i was thinking it might be that...my engine also seems to go through a fair amount of oil. Say a quart every 500-1000 miles.

My block isnt sleeved, and i have heard of people with d-series blocks which warp under large amounts of boost...do you think that might be happening? I have about 10,000 miles on this engine since it was last rebuilt.

Is this something i should be worried about? Ideas or Comments?

Sounds like you have a piston problem. You might have crack the piston.

sounds like a combo of poor ring seating and too much fuel.

I talked to the place which built my engine today (performane engine in denver, colorado)...and we all agreed the piston rings were not sealing correctly under boost. I am taking the car down tomorrow and they are going to look at it never the less.

What we think the problem is the stock cyl sleeves are warping under the large amounts of boost, 15-18psi, and the piston rings arnt sealing correctly now.

So it looks like its time to send out my extra block to JG and get it sleeved...*grin*
