Default having problem with clutch

i just put in a act clutch and its grabing really late. i have to release the clutch pedal all they way. so in other words its grabing at the top i want it lower... i have a cable tranny.. plz respond on how to adjust ....

where the clutch cable connects to the tranny there is a black **** that turns there. adjust it untill almost all the slack is out.

I believe you have it backwards. If he wants the clutch to release further down when he pushes the pedal....then he would want more slack in his cable. If you adjust the cable where there is no slack or little at all, the clutch will engage/disengage sooner in the pedal travel.

Sometimes its just in the "design" of the pressure plate of the clutch. Some require more travel than others to engage/disengage.

i adjusted it both ways..... when i go clock wize my pedal gets stiffer. it continued to stay at the top of the pedal. as adjusted it more it got tighter and then there was no grab at all. soo then i went counter clock wise. now it is grabing a little lower then before. but my clutch is feather lite.. i dont understand plz help
