where is the coolant drain bolt?

Default where is the coolant drain bolt?

where is the coolant drain bolt on a '96 d16y7? is there one? a pic would be nice too. thanks

look under the radiator. I dunno for a 96, but on 5 gens there is a wingnut on one side. This is the draing bolt nut.

oops. didnt make that clear. the bolt on the engine block not the radiator.

i believe the only coolent drain bolt is on the radiator...
it should be at the very bottom either on the right or left side...

i believe there is only one on the radiator , its on the bottom right its a wingnut , if there is one on the block that would be great.

make sure you have a new washer for the block drain bolt, it is not reusable.

i think you're wrong (or you're refering to a v6 ). its on the back of the block by the oil filter. this topic came up earlier.

from a 96-98 helms manual:


also there is no mention of engine specific differences here, so i'm assuming the bolt is there for y5,y7, and y8 engines. i know for a fact that's there it is on my y8. to loosen it, try getting at it from underneath the passenger side. if you go directly under it, the axle is in the way. still a pain in the *** either way, and coolant gets everywhere, so have a beer bong like contraption up there.
