Just unplugged my oxygen sensor and went for a drive
The car ran so nice. Really smooth. Normaly its a little bit boggy, especially when you're off the throttle and suddenly punch it.
Nothing I could do could make the car bog.
I'm not understanding this...
anyone care to help me diagnose the problem?
maybe my 02 sensor is so fucked it gives really bad readings to the ecu and the ecu gives me a shitty mixture... or the disconnected mixture is so rich it just runs really nice all the time?
I was always wondering what was causing my car to be boggy, I thought it was the fuel pump or something to do with the fuel delivery system, or maybe a vacuum leak.
So whats the deal guys, why is my car running so nice without the 02 sensor and not throwing a code?

maybe you've got a clogged cat, and when you remove the 02 sensor it's letting some of the backpressure out and giving you better power?
Are you sure there is a definite change in power/performance? Correct me if wrong, but the o2 only was used in closed loop conditions, and was not a factor at WOT. Its not used when starting up cold, until coolant is warmed up, and the sensor is at operating temp. At WOT, the ecu resorts to the predetermined values for fuel and timing. The o2 is only used under part-throttle and when cruising.
Could you tell differences at partial throttle, not just wot?

yeah its not only at wot, i rarely ever drive at wot... normaly it is slightly boggy all through the throttle position range, if i let off the gas in 3rd gear for example it will bog slightly etc.
all of this went away.

Yep, I'm about ready to.

Hi,
I was totally suprised when that hesitation appeared. I didn't have a such situation in my previous 3gen....
So... I don't know what caused the hesitation to dissapear but what I did was:
plugs,
wires,
O2 sensor,
new cat (hi-flow),
dizzy cap and rotor.
I would say that problem is realted to O2 sensor and cat. Now I'm hesitation free

Damn - thats strugglin'

I'm having the exact same problem. Under WOT it pulls nicely, but under partial throttle, it kinda bogs.
It even did this when I was rolling around open header when I first swapped it from my 93 EX to the 92 VX hatch.
When it was in the 93 EX, it worked just fine with no O2 code. I'm throwing the O2 Code 1 now.
Probably just something with the wiring, but it's been buggin the hell outta me as well.
Probably another factor why I slightly failed emissions.
