i need some 4th gen help
i woke up this moring and started my car and it would just keep cracking over it would try to start then after a while it started up and i drove it for like 5 miles ran fine as long as it wasnt under load as soon as i put any pressure on the gas it would go lean and the rev would bounce. i changed out the main relay, put in a new ing. s/w and still the problem percisted. i got it to idle and as so as there was any load it would go lean and almost dye out. and the only code i gave me was a 43 fuel system. im stumped on this one guy any help is welcom

im may just be blowing smoke up your ***, but have you checked to make sure the fuel pump it okay, and the injectors arent clogged and there are no leaks in the fuel lines anywhere?
don't forget the filter. listen to the gas tank fill hole and have a friend turn the key over a couple of times. you should hear a roaring sound, if not check the fuse and relay.
What was the last thing you installed before you put in the new switch? 4th gens are very touchy on there wirings...meaning if somethings touching something else that it doesn't like, it'll let you know the hard way. Check your MSD wires and plugs. It sounds like you're not getting 'enough' gas. Did you check for sparks? Smell the plugs for gas?

yeah, that's what i was thinking. it could be dropping spark under load.

the problem still persistes i checked the timing with a gun it was fine and did a compression test and it was 180psi across the board
hey i had the same problem and it turned out to be the injectors have them cleaned out by a pro with the pressure injector cleaner it will run you about 150.00
but it took care of my problem.

Yeah, clogged injectors could defanitly cause a problem like that. Also, if your fuel pressure regulator isn't working right, the same thing could happen. Im sure you checked already, but did you make sure there isn't any vacume leaks?
