i have an 00 hatch...is this thing bolted on or what?!?!? i yanked on it but it feels pretty secure...how can i get it off? and YES i know there will be two holes there...i tried searching first

 

get some fishwire behind it and yank it off.

 

key phrase of this process: firm but gentle.

 

so what is it just push clips holding it on there? can you easily get behind it and push it out instead of pulling?

 

it's held on by strong adhesive. if you pull too firmly on it, you might rip off the car's paint. best bet is to heat it up a little with a hairdryer and then use fishing line, strong floss, or a little piece of packaging plastic (cut in a square) to get behind the emblem and cut at the glue. then use Goo Gone to remove the leftover adhesive from the car.

 

the heatgun will help a lot. Just becareful as the sheetmetal heats up quickly.
