I don't think so. I have a vx civic and before the swap. It's geared for gas mileage all the way through. At 75 in 5th it was about 2.5k rpm. I was usually under 2k rpm in city driving, but it could pull through that.

VX tranny is identical or very simliar to CX (there were 2 different versions)
DX is defiantly geared much better then either of the two.
Canadian CX tranny = DX tranny
