help with idle

Default help with idle

im trying to adjust the idle on my bike but the adjusting screw is all the way out and it wont go below 2000 ish. the bike is an f2 and the manual says it should be set to around 1200. any idea's on where to start looking?

This is a shot in the dark, cuz I'm no mechanic.

Maybe check the throttle cable?

another possiblility is that the choke is not dis-engaging. Try starting the bike with the choke on, then as it warms up a little, turn the choke off. If no difference in idle, then that is most likely your problem. If not, then check the throttle cable.

it floods out right away if i use the choke at all, even if its a cold start.

Look at your idle jets. Sounds like they're way off to begin with. Especially since you mentioned how the choke floods the engine. Other than the idle, how does the bike run? If fine then its almost positively your idle circuit

since i added a k&N and yosh slip on do you think i should just go ahead and jet it with a stage 1? i konw its not the throttle cable because it is completely closed with a little bit of slack.
