so maby my motor is not blown....but whats the probolem w/ it than?
well as some of you may remember, my motor started knocking about 2 weeks ago and i parked my car. i asumed it was a spun rod bearing.
i finally got my car in my garage and started ripping it apart today, but when i drained the oil i couldnt see any metal shaving associated with a spun bearing, os i decided to drop the pan and oil feed pipe, and aluminium plate under the crank and nothing, everything is perfectally clean. i even ran a magnet thru the pan i drained the oil into and nothing.
so my question is what else would make this sort of knocking? it is hollow and rev dependent. ive had the valve cover off and nothing looks to be scarred or damaged in the head. could it be my oil pump? i need help ASAP cause i need a car to get back and forth to school.

knocking doesn't mean anything went bad... it's just detonation...
you can ping for a LONG time before anything goes...
also it could be one of your pulleys.. my alternator pulley sounds IDENTICAL to knocking... it only happens between 2-3k.
Not saying that's your problem but it's a possibility.
Check your timing it may be too far advanced...
