Default spun a bearing on 5 psi - 9th motor

i had good oil, why in the hell did this happen? the only thing i can possibly think of is that maybe an oil shaving somehow got left in the oil pan after drilling the hole for the return line fitting. is there some other way that a bearing could spin?

You're overreving motors on stock bottom ends, probably, if this is your 9th motor.

there are lots of ways. Lack of oil, detonation, improper clearances to begin with...

find a new builder, and stop working on the motor yourself!!!

You know the old saying. Keep it simple. So that is when you have to pick one! ! !
To be fast! Parts ain't cheap!

To be reliable! Quality Parts ain't cheap!

Or to cheap! Motors ain't cheap!

If youve blown 9consecutive motors and your only 17, it may be time to reconsider turbocharging a Honda for you...........

over-revving? i don't take it into vtec even. i definetly had full oil, and no oil leaks or smoke. there were different reasons for all the last engines blowing.

FIRST TURBO - TD05H
1st engine - broken ringlands after 650 miles (no management, 14psi)
2nd engine - return line broke off after 1600 miles, threw a rod (no management, 14psi)
3rd engine - knocked from beginning, spun a bearing after 17 miles (no management, 2 psi)
4th engine - blew turbo seal and bearings and lost all oil through exhaust and intake after 270 miles, threw a rod (too thick of oil = insane oil pressure)(no management, 14psi)
NEW TURBO - 2nd gen eclipse turbo
5th engine - leaky oil feed fitting, leaked all oil out after 2300 miles (no management, 12psi)
6th engine - drove without turbo for a while, let my sister borrow it for a week, ran it EXTREMELY low on oil, started knocking, then i rodded the **** out of it at 12psi and blew it to hell after 3100 miles. (no management, 12psi)
7th engine - rebuilt engine 3 with my friend travis while drunk and blew it after 1.5 miles (clearances must've been messed up something awful) (no turbo)
8th engine - car was too low and ripped the drainplug out of the oil pan on a sewer lid after 14 miles - (uberdata, 390ccs, 255lph walboro, basemap, 8psi)
NEW TURBO - Garrett AiResearch from some volvo - ended up being a piece of poo that boosted just over a pound? slow as hell. (uberdata, 390ccs, 255lph walboro, basemap, 1.2psi)
NEW TURBO - IHI RHB25 or something... off of a ford probe
9th engine - randomly spun a bearing after ~103 miles (uberdata, 390ccs, 255lph walboro, basemap, 5psi)

i have a new motor for it, going to check clearances before i install it. i'm pretty sure i can do this, i have just had really bad luck in the past.

Question:

Where are you pouring the oil and where are you pouring the coolant?

You arent having the best of luck are you? Also, since the previous motors have nothing to do with this last one, why are you even telling us about them?

I think I would have a hard time blowing 9 motors in 17 years. Add time for birth, diapers, etc... and it becomes impossible.

the reason i'm telling you about the last motors is because everyone's making me look retarded like "where do you put the coolant and where do you put the oil" HA HA HA thats awesome. i just need help understanding why THIS one blew.

Hmm well 9 motors is a trend. It's hard to believe that they all blew randomly, no?

So it might help to figure out why all of them blew. The oil cap is the one on the top of the valve cover BTW.

What I mean is, your original topic "spun a bearing on 5 psi - 9th motor". Why are you telling us youre on your 9th motor. Youre making it seem like youve spun bearings 9 times before. What exactly are you doing? Is this the same block and crank being reused? Give us more details if you dont want to be criticized.

well. looks like this is where its at

one. all your cars had a shitty tune/basemap/ no basemap/no management

im sure its got detonation up the *** that prob caused your mtor to beat up your bearings

also sounds like you had a hardcore HMT setup. with rubber oil feed lines and clamps etcc.
