I borrowed a Comptech Icebox to test on the dyno for my own purposes, I'll be comparing it to the AEM I usually run. The question is on the fit of the cover over the filter, It seems real loose/easy to pull of. I don't think its going anywere but I don't like the way it fits. It looks like it should fit over and slip into place firmly but it doesn't. Has anyone else noticed this on there Icebox?

Make sure you're gettign it to lock down on both sides....mine takes a little work to get it on, once it's there it's not locked in place (i.e. it can wiggle a little) but it's certainly not going anywhere.
Mine is easy to get off and hard to get back on. if it's wiggly, try pushing inwards on one side of the lower half of the airbox to get the top on correctly.

clean them, it's a UNI filter, their filter cleaner is available a number of places. I just did mine, it's alot easier to clean than a K&N, so that's another perk...oiling is messier tho, cuz you've gotta massage it in there... I got a big bottle of cleaner and one of oil from Comptech when i got the filter. (costs extra, of course

Make sure you use the ruber ring from the factor intake. With IceBox cover off
and intake hose off place the filter in and loosen ring holding filter to the elbow.
Now you can pinch the filter & elbow tighter to the botom end of the IceBox. Oil or
armoral ruber ring gasket that you got from stock intake, so that when you put the
lid on it easily slides into the grove DON'T put one side on at a time, because the
gasket wont line up instead put cover straight on making sure that the gasket
slides tight between the covers grove. If not done right your IceBox will suck some
air from under the hood not much but some. Any air from under the hood can't be
good. GOOD LUCK cause it takes a little practice.

I talked to Comptech and described the problem, they said that some of the covers did not have deep enough groves cut into them. I looked at mine and on one side that was the case, I could see the line where it should have been cut but it went from being cut fairly deep up to scratching the surface at the other end. Pulled out the Dremel and it fits fine now.
