Exhaust pipe spring bolts...
Ok.. I was driving down the street yesterday, I here a clang and then my exhaust got loud... hehe... I was like f&!k ... I had remembered that I couldn't find the spring bolt connecting my cat to my header when i did my swap so I just used a regular bolt hehe... so I checked under the car tonight and yup that bolt was gone... so I got the new spring bolt and nut this morning and freaking hate putting these spring bolt things on... anyone got an easy way of doing it... I tried squeezing with my fingers but I guess I'm just too weak
... anyways also just moved and can't find half of my tools (they're all in boxes) .. so if anyone got an easy way let me know please!! thanks Rj

nope! no other way, try to pry the 2 pipes to put one bolt/nut on then tighten it, the other bolt should be very easy to install. These bolts are bitches!

The same thing just happened to me tonight on my way home from work!!
Well, its good that I have the next 2 days off.
Should I get the parts from honda??.. I still have the stock exhaust...
Not only was the exhaust f'ing loud, but I noticed a HUGE decrease in power, is that normal???
anyhow, Im not looking foward to fixing this, Im sure there's a **** load of rust..

use a thin rope and thread it though the spring. then get a rod and twish the rope around the rod. turn the rod so the rope tightens ile a mini spring compressor. when you got the bolt on cut the rope and you're all set.

I use two... one on the top and the bottom of the hole.... thread it loosely... then the other side.. finally tighten

Now that is an innovative idea

I made my own bolts for this task using stainless threaded rod, stainless hex nuts, and washers. If you make them yourself, you can make them a tad longer and easier to install. Making them from stainless prevenst them from siezing up, too.
well i did it this morning... hehe took me 10 minutes of pulling on the exhaust ! ... all done... I guess I'm not as weak as I thought... car sounds sooo much better
... ziptie idea and rope idea get a thumbs up from me!
