Default Pistons..Sleeves..Boost...

I realize that this topic has been beaten to a bloody pulp but seeing the thread the other day about the forged pistons in stock sleeves I just want to know if ANYONE has tried this on a boosted H22 or H23? And if so what have been the results?

christ not this again.......

spend some money and get your block sleeved...... you won't be disappointed, oh and I can hit 15psi on a bone stock motor, super rich and super timing..... if you're sleeved, 20psi is nothing all day long...

drawbacks? besides it costing a lot ....none, what could be better than a motor running 20psi all day long that you don't have to worry about.....keep in mind you have to strengthen the motor elsewhere though such as the head bolts, rods, head gasket, a few other places to get RELIABLE high boost

sleeve that thing, man...it's not a matter of "is it possible"...Anything is possible, the question is whether or not you can do it realiably. Yes, I have heard of people running forged pistons without sleeves but the majority will tell you that you are in for trouble eventually. so why put off what you will have to do eventually anyways?

its not the forged pistons that dont allow the use with stock sleeves, its the rings, i think wiseco makes rings that are safe to use with frm sleeves. not quite sure though, correct me if i'm wrong.

No, you are obsolutely right. I should have been more clear with my response. And yes, Wiseco does make pistons/rings that are supposedly safe to run with FRM sleeves. I have only heard one testimonial with a decent amount of miles though. They're just too new a lot of feedback on.
