need help...idk anything bout preludes
ok im a civic guy myself and my manager at work had a question for me since i was into honda's...i dint know the answer to the question so i figured you guys could help me out....he has a '89 prelude he wants to know if he can put a 2000 h22 motor in without modifications, besides ecu, wiring harness???
It's possible and has been done before, but he will need to have a mount kit, do wiring and such.
It'll definitely be a project. It's nothing like swapping a B16 into a civic or anything. Little bit more work involved.

Tell your boss to contact either Place Racing or Hasport. One of those two has motor mounts for this swap. They would probably be better suited to tell him what he's looking at as far as the swap goes.
$6,000 should be more than enough to complete the motor swap. You're looking at about $2500 for motor, trans, ecu, axles etc. Then mounts will be between $300-$500 probably. That leave him about $3k to play with and have someone put the motor in.
Personally, I'd sell the 89 Lude, take the $3k ish that he got from it, add to the $6,000 and buy a fourth gen VTEC. Much easier in my opinion.

awsome advice.
i have a 4th gen and i just paid 3500 for a complete jdm h22a swap. 6k should be enough. but i also recomend selling the 3rd gen and buying a 4th gen.
