Brake problem, got me stumped...

Brake problem, got me stumped...
Okay i've been having this problem with my brakes for quite some time now, and i havent been able to track it down.
The pedal goes down almost to the floor with little resistance, and then it brakes hard once the brakes start to grab, which is when the pedal is almost at the floor.
Before you say "BLEED THE BRAKES!" let me tell you what i've done to try and alieviate the problem (to no avail)
4 new rotors (rear disc conversion, had the same problem when i still had teh rear drums)
4 new pads
new master cylinder
bled brakes many many many many times.
anybody have any ideas what it could be? its not the brake booster, becuase i unplugged the vacuum line from it, the brakes still acted the same but only harder to push, still no braking until the floor.
could it possibly be the calipers? It seemed like it started doing it after i first changed the front pads..

The power brake booster....the rod inside or adjustment could be off....or just completely bad....I'd talk to a local mechanic and ask them the symptoms of that Ive never had one go bad so dont know what to look for in a bad one but thats what it sounds like to me if you've replaced the master cylinder....but you also could've scolded-the new master cylinder or got a defective one.

let's see if i understand you correctly.
you get good braking power once the brakes actually "engage", but the pedal movement till they finally engage is far?
if that is the case it sounds like the pdeal adjustment is off. i've never adjusted the pedal before so i won't be of much help.

Yea, there's a nut just like the clutch pedal (i think) where you can adjust it.
