Default Brake Pads. WAY TOOO HOT!!

When i did my suspension work in the front , I decided to put some new brake pads in, and on the left passenger side brake, it gets extremely hot, and sometimes stinks. they were 30 bucks and there semi-metallics. What is causing the one side to overheat and not the other. I mean really hot to, the rim starts to get really hot. can anyone help me?

had that happen to a car i used to have....depending on the pads...its probably just the break in on the pads...mine were brembo rotors and pads and the rotors were turning black...took about 2 weeks of breaking and lots of spraying the dust off with cleaner or water to make it go away...good luck

Actually it probably is the parking break. Take the armrest out and readjust it using the 10mm nut. loosen it up a bit.

My rim is getting hot also. I hear a squeeking noice from my rear as I break and even when I am driving. I think it may be a clip. My caliper was seized, but I changed that.

That should be on the back, it should be no where near the rotor.

New pad, new rotors, new caliper, and I still getting that sound. It also appears that the pad is not making full contact with the rotor. You can see the contact area on the rotor and there is a good CM from the inner begining that is dirty... Thus, no contact. I am going to try the e-brake thing.

Try new pads. Speciafically Oem or brand name aftermarket. Not no cheap generic brand that will wear out in months.

Well, it's the rear pass wheel. And I have new brake pads on there. Any clue anyone?
